Whether or not you will want to open your own real estate brokerage someday, you should go get your real estate broker’s license. It takes work, extra education and an exam, as well as filling the experience requirement set by your state. It takes time and money to meet these requirements, but the benefits are totally worth it. If you already know that you want to open your own real estate agency, it’s a no brainer. Getting your broker’s license is the easy part because the path is already laid out for you. What are the requirements in PA to get your Broker's License?
3 years experience as a licensed salesperson
200 points total
5 points for each listing that has sold
5 points for each buyers that closed
1 point for each exclusive right to sell that never sold
1 point for each lease
240 hours of instruction (16 credits) at an approved education provider
mandatory - 60 hours
commission developed courses - at least 90 hours
the balance can be in elective courses
Application fee of $97-$179.50
